Awesome teacher! Definitely buy the course guide: most of the exam material can be found in it. Also, he included worksheets and old exams, and about 40% of the exams came from the questions in the worksheets and course packet. I took both classes in one semester. 3 exams for each class, 52 questions, and he grades the best 50. Take him if you can, he actually cares about his students and doesn't kill your GPA. And he speaks very good English, his accent is no problem.

TAKE HIM. he is a great professor. you can tell that he really cares about students because he always goes the extra mile to help them. he is really friendly and very down to earth. all the lecture notes are posted on BB, but to keep attendance he has some clicker questions, where you submit your answer to a question. he will reward the answer, even if it is wrong. KNOW his course guide. it is EXTREMELY useful, but read the book as well because his TAs quiz you about stuff mentioned in the book. also do the cambell review because he uses some of the questions. i will recomend him anytime.

Prof. Sata is a very excellent Bio teacher. He's lenient and provides you with plenty of study material. He's a sweet man and makes us laugh sometimes. He wants you to do well in his class also.

Awesome professor! He is very nice and willing to help you whenever you need it. He gives so many bonus points and the tests aren't bad at all if you go over his course booklet and practice exams.

Dr. Sata is a very good teacher. His notes are excellent! He really cares for his students. Making an A requires some effort and you absolutely cannot be lazy after the first exam (since it's really easy you may feel like relaxing). Here's the way our points broke down...11 quizzes pick best of 10 for a possible 100 points (all during discussion sections each week), 3 exams 100 points each and no final, up to 16 bonus points (4 points overall) for attendance, and your total is out of 400 points. As long as you stay consistent and up to date with the workload you'll love the class. I suggest talking to him during OH's sometime because he's really nice and wants to get to know his students and he'll cover anything that you want to go over with amazing detail and clarity. He really knows his stuff and will prepare you for later stuff like the MCAT. Major props to Sata.

Dr. Sata is so great! He is so caring to his students and really is concern with their grade. He drops the lowest test score as well as gives extra points for attendance. His exams are moderate, not too hard and has a humorous TA, Samraat. Pretty easy to make an A in his class.

His class is fairly easy. But if you aren't too great with understanding english with an accent, it might be a little confusing during lectures as to what he's talking about. Attendence is mandatory, but for my class, he just added points to everyone, even those who didn't attend all the lectures. So might not be worth your investment to buy a clicker. 3 exams, no final. 3rd exam is the hardest.

Dr. Sata is a genuine professor. He's very nice, silly, & caring. We had 3 tests and a cumulative final. The attendance extra credit counts towards your final grade I believe so attend class! He provides you with a great set of notes in his Course Guide for 32 and other study materials. FANTASTIC CHOICE for a biology professor.

Sata is the best 211 teacher out there. He explains all the material so well, his Powerpoint slides are excellent and they are posted on the class website for easy review, he puts up old exams for practice, and by far the best part of this class was his class handout. It was a great little book that had all the intro cellbio stuff in it, and I am sure I will use it later for MCAT review.

Very nice proff, easy going, fun, most importantly I learnt basic Molecular Biology techniques. I was thinking b/w Dr.Sata and Dr. Mehdy but I am glad I ended taking up his course as most past students recommended Dr.Sata over Dr. Mehdy.

dr. sata is the bomb. he's the easiest intro bio professor out of the whole department from what our PLAs tell us. at the same time, bio is still really challenging. what i've found works the best for me is reading his course guide before the class so you have a firmer grasp of what he's talking about. his lectures are very well-structured; he touches on everything that will be on the test and if you have questions he will answer them thoroughly in class or in office hours. in terms of the tests, reading over your notes off the course guide, studying squarecap questions (and the reasons as to why the answers are correct), going to the test review sessions, really really paying attention in class, and repetition are excellent ways to get an A in his class. also, he's super funny and adorable. always cracking cheesy dad jokes and has a smile on his face 24/7
