I think Mabry is probably my least favorite professor at this university. His lectures were completely pointless and extremely hard to follow (coming from a junior with a current 4.0 GPA, so you know if I say it's hard to folow, IT'S HARD TO FOLLOW). His tests are extremely easy if you know what he's looking for, he has more than one right answer on a lot of questions and you just have to know which he believes is right. He hands out word lists before the test to study off of, but they are sometimes misleading. His tests are a piece of cake though if you go to his Office Hours and ask him "What should we know about this word on the list"...he'll basically tell you the question and the answer he's looking for. He covers A LOT of material in a short time though, making the work load a little on the heavy side, not too too bad. If you're premed, DO NOT TAKE HIM! There are 4 tests, including the final, and there are about 4-5 chapters covered on every test. He covers just the bare basics of most of the stuff and doesn't teach you what you need for the MCAT, etc. You're allowed to drop the final if you're satisfied with your grade on the previous exams. His personality isn't too great either, probablly just because of the generation gap. He's very old, and mumbles (which is why the lectures are so hard to follow). He also favors girls in class.

Mabry is old and laid back. He tells you what you need to study, but his tests are mostly based upon the text. The lecture goes over it fairly briefly, but as long as you read the book, the all multiple choice tests should not be hard. You take 4 exams, drop the lowest grade. If you are looking for in-depth knowledge of biology, look elsewhere.
