Review from a student who took ee 372n
I took his his ee 372n (telecommunication networks) in Spring 2005: in the first lecture he explains the course is actually "computer networks" so if you want to learn about telecomm, you're out of luck. expect to cover ethernet, TCP, IP, token ring... i find the material uninteresting, look at the syllabus and browse the book. make sure this material interests you. his lectures are entirely from the textbook, every topic, every example, everything. it's hard to attend a 9am lecture when he just reads you the textbook. nettles seems to pride himself on writing tricky exams. notation and style is often very different from the homework problems, and many students do very poorly on the exams (grades range from the low 90s to the 20s).
