After all the other classes were full, I was forced to take him. And it wasn't that bad. His lectures usually consisted of a brief introduction into the chapter and then a load of examples. He uses his hands quite a bit while he talks - can get quite distracting if you're still awake during his lectures. He tries to get class participation by offering candy to any good question but he often gets so wrapped up in answering it he forgets the candy. He's apparently involved in quite a bit and thus gets numerous phone calls during class. But that just means you can leave class whenever your phone rings too. He usually assigns 8-12 homework problems from the book at the beginning of each week. For most of the homeworks, the lectures did help out a bit and there's always the book to refer to (as horrible as it is, it can help occasionally). You can't really go to the recession sessions for help as the homework was due at the beginning of each, but the TA holds office hours so make use of those if need be. The recession session occasionally had quizzes but was usually a review of the current lecture for an hour and then some practice problems for an hour. The grader grades the quizzes and homework so it all depends on him, but the hw/quizzes together are only worth 15%. There were three midterms with 20 questions and one final during the year. The first exam happened within the first two weeks of class and was meant to test everything you learned in EE 302. But it was only worth 5%. The next two exams were worth 25% each and the final was worth 30%. The exams are pretty simplistic if you've done the homework, but the grading is tricky as only the answer is checked. It's basically all or nothing on each question, but if you mess up on units you may just lose a point or two. Don't worry too much if you get this professor, but be sure to get help if you need it else you'll get left behind quickly.

Course load this guy gives is heavy. Teaching is THE worst of his attributes second only to personality. He spends a significant amount of time relating the story of his life than teaching EE. An extremely self-indulgent, odacious & distracted individual, he would interuppt the class to answer his cell-phone (which would ring more often than yours), and then resume lecturing explaining in great detail what his phone conversation was about. Testing style however is relatively tolerable but grading of hw is harsh and insensitive. When you ask him a question in class he would typically respond with the phrase, "I could answer your question, but I won't...". The course material is not very hard but he makes it seem so. I made an A in this course ONLY from diligent self-study. If you take this prof be prepared for one of worst experiences in a EE course.

TunnMB Im no expert, but I suppose you just crafted the best point. You undoubtedly understand what youre talking about, and I can really get behind that. Thanks for staying so upfront and so genuine.
