Review from a student who took 301
Her lectures are alright, every Friday is experiment day, I heard other classes had finals that were over 55 questions while hers was only 32 questions this semester, she isn?t so much into the calculation like Mccord is, and she is a nice person to go to during office hours. She?s alright.

Brodbelt is agood teacher to pass ch 301 with. if your a chem major, prob stay away. if your looking to get an elective done, take her. grading scale: 3 midterms lowest which is dropped - 60% 9 homeworks done online, low is dropped - 5% one final - 35% first midterm is early and in the drop class period, so if you fail you can drop the class with no penalty. i took chem in 10th grade, none since, remembered very little, gots b's on the first two midterms, didnt go to class til the final and ill prob get a b in the class. lectures are all powerpoints available on the net. study the chapters in the book and those the night before and youll be fine.

DONT TAKE BRODBELT!!! She makes chemistry sooo boring. All she does is rewrite her notes on the overhead. She doesn't explain what she is writing so you get lost really fast. She doesn't really put an effort to answer questions, and if she does, it still doesn't clarify things. I HATED this class. If you really want to learn without teaching yourself dont take this class, otherwise good luck!

I highly recommend that you take another teacher if you really want to learn the Gen Chem I material. She isn't a very good lecturer; she doesn't address the 'why' of what we're learning. That said, I think her class is pretty easy... it's just so incredibly boring.
