Cynical. Odd, Kennedy-esque accent. Likes to take plenty of jabs (some deserved, most just low blows) at the Bush administration. The only good thing I have to say is that Sparrow is great at creating an environment conducive to discussion, even within a pretty large class. Otherwise, get ready for a "things are all ready bad, here is why" type of class. To make things worse, one of the course texts is his book. I hate that...

Review from a student who took GOV 310L
He tries to make it interesting, but he latches on to such irrelevant facts and stories that you really never figure out what the overall idea of the course is. THe work load isn't awful, but I was consistantly one or two articles behind in the readings... mostly because some of them were so dull I couldn't bring my self to read them. His tests and quizzes are all over information according to Sparrow, and not necessarily what you learned in class, what the readings said, or conventional wisdom.
