This class is a pretty easy grade. The lectures aren't very good, but all of the test questions come from the homeworks and the grading scheme just consists of averaging the 3 highest test scores out of 4 (including the final). As long as you do the homework its easy to pull off an a in this course.

Showalter isn't a bad prof, but he doesn't seem to care if the students are learning. His tests are made up of problems directly from the homework, which makes them somewhat easy. I learned most of the material on my own. He doesnt require attendance to class but sometimes it can help.

His tests are the homework problems verbatim. Attendance is not required. I learned the material on my own because his lectures did not help much. Homework is not graded and he drops one of your test grades. If I had the opportunity, I would not take him again just because I did not learn anything from him.
