Dr Brown is very knowledgeable in Engineering Economics and is a very good lecturer, his assignments are reasonable and make good use of the stuffs we learn in the text and apply them to practical use. Quizes are weekly, some may think it's a high workload but it's actually not, since each quiz only covers a small amount of material, plus he'll drop two of your lowest grades. Lastly, look at the grade distribution; if you put a fair amount of effort, it's an easy A.

EE316 is a self-paced course, to this day I have not SEEN brown. You basically take the entire thing from home after Unit 3. Stay caught up on their suggested schedule, I'm currently at the end of the year with an assload of work left. The TA's are decent at explaining, though I wouldn't bother with their office hours because there's always 2-4 of them in the lab. A good course with a lot of material, but for God's sake, STAY CAUGHT UP.

Boring lectures, boring material. Not too much to complain about, but not too much to praise either. At least it was well organized, and the tests were straightforward.

Taking a course with Brown is like going to the university and giving them money for an A. His classes are just that easy. Many students (including me) have fallen into the trap of 4.0 GPA hoarding, and now looking back, I do not recommend taking Brown for any EE course you have. His grading system and teaching style are so ridiculously exploitable, it's not even funny. Just copy down what he writes, do the homework, and come quiz/test time, the questions are exactly the same with different numbers. You seriously don't have to think in any of his classes. Even if you don't understand the concepts, you can easily pull an A in any course he teaches. While you're looking over his notes and quizzes, you'll feel like you're learning something, but after finals week, it really does not stick with you. It's not that Brown is a bad professor--in fact, he's very smart and nice as well. It's just that he makes it very easy for his students to get an A. If you need an easy course for the semester, go ahead and take it with him, but if you want to learn something and retain it, take anyone else.

Brown is a smart guy, but he can't teach worth crap. Most people love him since his grading style is a joke. Class generally consists of him reciting to you various things he considers obvious and doesn't bother to explain along with copious amounts of transcribing his pile of notes onto the board (which he often erases soon after). The man is even more useless in office hours. He doesn't even want to talk to his students and is generally reluctant to provide any meaningful assistance. If you don't care and want a relatively easy A, or even easier B, then he's fine. If you want to learn, then don't expect his course to help at all. Bottom-line: he sucks, but the other options might suck even more (ex. 362K).

VERY HARD. I hear he's easier than Driga, so I don't svn want t know what he is like. Lectures were jumbled and incoherent. Because I taught myself from the book and went to tutoring literally every night for the whole semester, I did OK. But unless you want to take a self-taught class, avoid him (Unless he's the least objectionable option, in which case you're SOL, like I was).
