The last one-third of the class is a killer.....the first 3 months were easy....but the final killed my grade

His class may seem kinda difficult as you're going along, but that's mainly because you can't really rely on the book for any clarification (yeah, his book is not really helpful...he barely spends two pages on each section). His lectures can also be confusing since he does

His lectures can also be confusing since he does presumes you know stuff; so if you need thorough explaining, go to his office hours. But in the end, I think his grading is very fair and you'll probably walk away just fine.

Review from a student who took M 340L
He's a good math professor. His class is enjoyable, but the material sucks. Not his fault, linear algerba is just a really boring class. It barely qualifies as math by the standards of calculus and differential equations. It's not hard and Sadun's class is no exception. But, you should do his homework, like any class. He will help you during his office hours and enjoys teaching. Probably not the best professor out there, but not a bad one.

Overall, this class isn't very difficult as long as you remember M 340l concepts. The first 2 months are basically a review (if you learned eigenvalues/eigenvectors). He has a homework assignment due each week with a reasonable number of problems. The caveat of this class is that the book is horribly written. He took the liberty of using a book he wrote himself. It turns out, the lectures are really helpful only because it's so difficult to understand the book. As with the last review, the last third of this semester can kill you if you don't understand what's going on. That's when he starts teaching purely new concepts. His tests are fairly simple. They consist of pure calculation except for a few true/false. Just make sure to understand his practice exams and all the concepts he has taught.
