Student reviews of Diane Radin

Review from a student who took 403k
I didn?t like her lectures, her tests, or her personality. She gets mad whenever you ask ?stupid questions,? if she thinks she has already gone over something enough she?ll say ?we?ve already gone over that! You should already know this.? She always says ?If you don?t know this then go back to geometry.? Her tests are somewhat similar to the long and grueling homework?s you have every week. Sometimes twice a week and her tests are accumulative. I would have taken someone else if I had a choice.

Radin is very loud and blunt. She is rude and not very forgiving. Half the time in her lectures you can't understand what or why she's doing any of it! Hope you get a good T.A. if your stuck with her.
Review from a student who took M408L
Radin might not be the best prof in the world, but she is one of the best teaching the required calculus sequence. Tests are standardized across teachers, and Radin's class outperforms most of the other profs. Like most, I am terrible at cal, but by paying close attention to Radin's lectures and working a lot on my own I was able to do well in the class. Her personality can be slightly rude at times, but just ignore this and she will teach you what you need to know, though it may still require hard work to fully understand everything. I recommend Radin as one of your best options for this class.
Review from a student who took M408C
Radin gets annoyed by stupid questions at office hours, but even when she's annoyed, she'll still help! The other reviews on here are pretty negative, and it's true that Radin is a no-nonsense prof, but if you go in to her office hours she's friendly and helpful the majority of the time. Don't get freaked out if you have to have her as a prof. Calc is a tough course, but based on my friends' experiences with other profs, I would say I was lucky to get her because I really know the material. She pushes knowing trig identities and basic values (which I had to re-learn), but once you get deep into calc it'll come easily.
