Gilbert was an excellent teacher. He explained the material so well that the TA sessions were totally unnecessary. M 403L, Business Calc II isn't even taught anymore, but I recommend him anyway.

Professor Gilbert provides a unique explanation of what the concepts being presented are and why they are important. Rather than expecting students to learn the material "just because," Gilbert takes time out to explain the significance of what is being taught. Not only does he make Calc interesting by itself, he also has a certain charm and is even able to bring some humor to an otherwise humorless subject. Be warned: he tends to call on indivduals from time to time, enjoys trig, and uses computer generated homework and tests.

Prof. Gilbert was entertaining. He tends to call on people, but he doesn't try to embarass you. It is just to get you involved in the lecture. I enjoyed his class very much, but I hate the weekly homework! Other than that, he is a good choice.
