Dr. Heitmann is an odd man. He relates VERY strange things to calculus. Don't take him if you can aviod it, but if you do happen to have him, do your homework during his class (because his lectures are pointless) and PRAY you have a wonderful TA that can explain the homework!

I liked prof Heitmann, his personality may have seemed strange - he has a "math" sense of humor. But his lectures were understandable and if you asked he would go over as much detail as needed during class. Homework was weekly, on the HW server - which is a great tool. And you could go over HW in discussions, and a little in class. Discussions were optional more or less, and you could go to which ever one you liked - I HIGHLY recommend trying out other TA's!! Prof H also gave our regular practice problms and practice tests if you wanted to make use of them.

his jokes are predictable and he moves through material without explaining. His tests are RIDICULOUS
