kruppa is a great lecturer, and you dont have to be a master at poetry reading and analysis bc he explains all the pieces very well. the exams are all impromptu essays in class, and the only thing that is really hard about them is trying to write a good essay in so little time. On these tests be very specific and detailed and you will make a good grade. Your tests are mostly graded by your TA, so depending on how they grade, deciphers whether you make a good grade or not.

Possibly, my favorite class so far. Excellent lectures and choices of reading. I'm not an English guy but his readings are fairly entertaining, and lecture are also. BEWARE: get stuck with the wrong teacher and you're assed out. How to get an A? attend class everyday and make comparisons between your assigned authors and you should be fine. I ended up with an 86 avg after failing the first exam. If not, I would've got an easy A.
