Prof Cox is lively, engaging, and fun. He initiates discussions within the class, and is real interesting to listen to. He makes English fun with his somewhat corny jokes and young spirit. The tests are semi-difficult. You just have to use some critical thinking before hand for the essay questions.

I took his Native American Lit class. I wouldn't recommend it unless you really want to learn about native american culture and literature, and nothing but. Most of the books are enjoyable, and he leads the class discussions really well, so everything makes sense in the books by the time he's done covering them. The tests are pretty straight forward, basic essays. If you go to class and read the books, you need to study very little for the tests. The papers, however, are a pain. I'm used to writing decent papers, but he tore into all of mine. It's all with good intent though, he is very sincere about improving your writing ability, and he is very approachable concerning disagreements with how he graded your paper or tests. He's a nice, funny guy, too, and knows a lot about the material.
