Higgins is a great person with a passion for philosophy, and is someone who teaches her class in a well organized way. I got a B in the class but if i tried harder, definately an A. Grading wise Professor Higgins is as fair as they come, she also mixes in some chinese philosophy which i heard most professors don't. Its a great elective class, and i hope someone else can benefit from her teaching

Higgins is a very nice woman, who teaches her class well. I got a B in the class but if i tried harder, definately an A. The grading is more than fair and i enjoyed the class, she also mixes in some chinese philosophy which i heard most professors don't. its a great intro to philosophy class.

She smiles so big, it is adorable. She is a very intelligent person who chooses her words carefully. The class is interesting and it's valuable stuff to think about, I think. But honestly it was kind of frustrating how abstract the material was. Grading depends on TA, mine wasn't very open to alternative opinions. Relatively heavy workload for a core requirement (tests plus other smaller essay assignments). I recommend the class for the professor and interesting subject, but assignments aren't easy. Sometimes I felt like I had to pretend to buy into flowery concepts (about 'souls' and 'experiences') for the sake of being able to do an assignment. But it's still not too hard to make an A... just kinda frustrating.
