The mind and body class can be a breeze. Prof Hochberg definitely knows his stuff and has published his own book on similar topics. However it is the TA's who grade, so its your luck if you get stuck with a difficult TA.

Hochberg is nice enough, his lectures are alright, sometimes confusing. His tests require that you actually do the readings, therefore it does require some work.

Professor Hochberg is really nice. He is somtimes a bit hard to follow in lecture but is really good about allowing time before the tests and at the end of class to clarify any material. He really knows what he is talking about. The tests are normally about 12-14 short essay questions and aren't too dificult. The qestions are really straightfoward and arn't ment to trick you. He will though ask about things that came stricktly from lecture so go to class. If you read you will do fine. For my class he gave "reviews" before the test which looked quite similar to the test questions. So if he gives a review do it! Just about all of the grading will depend on the TA's so best of luck there.

A great professor and a funny guy. He really made the philosophy interesting and almost every day I left the lecture excited about the material. The reading can be dense and hard to understand, but almost all of the books are on sparknotes.com, as he will inform you. His lectures help to put the readings into more understandable terms. Tests are generally straightforward, and are all essays - but this is actually good since you do not have to blandly memorize terms, just understand main concepts and be able put them in your own words. If you come into this class with a positive attitude and are interested by philosophy, you should find little problem making atleast a B.
