Bruster is a really great professor. He grades kind of hard on the essays, but the class is a lot of fun. There isn't too much work involved in this class, but sometimes the paper topics are a bit hard to write about because the literature isn't that incredibly fun.

Bruster is a model for great teaching, he gets you involved, he is excited about the topics and gets you excited as well. You have to try to get an A, but he is fair, and not overly impossble. The best teacher i have had in English.

I have taken two of the classes that he teaches. By far, he is the best English prof who actually cares about what you learn in his class. However, on the essays he does seem somewhat of a hard grader.

Bruster is a great teacher. his lectures are entertaining and 361K presents many interesting books to read. He gives 2 tests that count for 25% of your grade and 3 papers that count for 50%. The remaining 25% comes from participation and attendance. Take this professor if you want an interesting upper division English class. Don't take this professor if you refuse to participate in class discussion.
