Great professor. Realizes memorization is not important, lets you use notes and book on tests. Explains things well, great personality. We had 1 assignment a week, 10 questions out of the book. I would recommend taking Young for CS 336 or anything else he teaches.

He is a very nice professor in and out of class settings. I went to his office hours a lot and he was always helpful! The projects he gave us were always really interesting and allowed us to have little restriction of how to implement them. Take him if you can, he is a wonderful professor.

AWESOME PROFESSOR. Probably the best personality of all CS professors I've had so far. He's very approachable and willing to help you understand concepts in office hours and through e-mail. The 6 programming assignments are fairly simple. I did all 6 alone and managed to pull of full credit on most of them. He also posts older tests a few weeks before the actual tests to help you study. His slides are online too and easy to follow. Take him for whatever you can.

Great professor. Cool, funny, incredibly knowledgeable. Treats you like an adult and in turn expects the same courtesy out of you. The assignments were overall pretty interesting, the tests were manageable, and you knew exactly what to expect. All in all awesome prof... one of the reasons we are a top 10 CS department.
