I learned a lot in Steinman's class- the lectures got tiresome (maybe that's because I had the class at 9 AM), but all you have to do is take notes. The tests are rather hard- you have to study a lot, but she gives you lots of opportunities to make an A, like giving you point for attendance, extra credit opportunities, and an easy project. If you're happy with your grade after the last test you can skip the final. Don't buy the book- I never cracked it and I got an A. Steinman just reads her lectures from power point slides , and you copy down notes into a course packet. Multiple choice tests- some of the subject matter is tough because it blends several sciences- nutrition, biology, and a little chemistry. If you need a science class, this is probably much easier than biology or chemistry.

This is a fun, informative class. Personally I thought it was pretty easy, too. Most of the notes are in the course packet, which is nice; also tests are all multiple choice and the final is optional. It doesn't get much better than this.

Professor has Great personality! Make sure you go to class EVREYDAY and DO NOT MISS her notes because it covers 80% of the exam. Exam is consist 50 MC. It is Hard and there are at least 10% of tricky Questions. Need to do projects, which is strictly graded. I would say this class has heavy workload, but professor is informative & interesting. You can learn a lot.
Review from a student who took NTR 311 and 307
Professor Steinman is most definitely one of my favorite professors. She's not only intelligent and informative, she also has a good sense of humor and a great personality. Her tests are not easy, but if you study and apply yourself, you should do fine. I recommend going over your notes on a daily bases in that there is a lot of information covered. Her tests are 50 multiple choice and the final is optional if you are happy with your grade. However, she does not curve and she will not bump your grade up -- for any reason. I highly recommend any nutrition class with Professor Steinman. =)

She is a very good lecturer, interesting and conveys information clearly.
Review from a student who took NTR 311
Professor Steinman was great to take nutrition from. She was very straightforward about the information that we would need to know for the tests, since there is quite a bit of information. The only complaint that I have is that we were in class for about a month before we had our first test. There was a LOT of information to be studied and she actually was quite detailed on the test. If you study well, and go to class, you should be fine.
