Student reviews of Krishnaswa Ravi-chandar

Review from a student who took EM 319
Lectures are rushed and mumbled with very immaculate writing on the chalk board. You will be tested on statics more than solids in this course that is taught by Dr. Ravi-chandar, Krishnaswa. Be prepared for anything on the examinations. If you are not operating at a level of perfection with respect to statics, you will not do well on the two-question exams. His "gimme" sections of the examinations involve statics solution skills that are more difficult than any problems that this student experienced during an entire semester in STATICS at UT. Best of luck if you have to take Ravi-chandar, Krishnaswa for this course.

The class is interesting and Dr. Ravi is very helpful with any problems. Very good instructor in a very interesting class.
Review from a student who took EM 306
Ravi doesn't seem to care at all how his students do in this class. The averages on his tests have been incredibly low compared to other classes, and he refuses to curve our grades. His tests consist of 3 questions, some of them so ridiculous and obscure that you no chance of answering. He isnt very helpful to students either. The way this class runs it seems that we are already expected to know statics before ever taking the class. I would rather be in Rodin.

Let me say something to sum up this guy's class. IT SUCKS. He doesn't care at all whether or not you pass or fail, and unless you are some kind of genius who happens to know the tension in a string floating in outer space with a moment of inertia of 5 million, you will either get a C, or you will fail. People like him are the reason that kids drop out of engineering, because he enjoys seeing people miserable, no joke. He said that he was glad that about 30 percent of the people who take his class dont pass. I would not be at all sad if he got run over by a car, and if that happens then he deserved to go to hell. Taking this class makes you want to be a professor just so you can take his job.
