Review from a student who took CHE 317
I took ChE 317 with this prof in Spring 2006. You must pay attention to the details of the steps he outlines in class!! When he works problems, take notice of the procedures, because they will greatly help your partial credit on tests (which I assure that you'll need). The class itself is not too bad, but its not great either. There are a high number of drops and failures, and this is definitely one of the ChE weed-out classes. But if you're willing to work hard and go to office hours, you should be fine. Homework can be excessive, sometimes just before a test. Tests are three hours long, and he writes them to fill up the three hours. You can't afford to spend 30 minutes just figuring out a problem .. at least solve it halfway, get partial points and move on.
