Truth be it that I did not do very well in this class--despite putting atleast 20 hours a week into it. Despite this, I believe Prof. Irwin is the best math instructor I have ever had. She cares about her students and presents the material very well. My only gripe is that she has very little control over the grades--as curves and grades are determined by a council of sorts.

Ok, this class is a 50/50 kind of thing, test will either be very easy or difficult and then the test will be vice versa of the homework. I have never found anyone who actually did good on both. I had all A's on her homework, however, on her tests it seemed as though she changed things and made it harder. I struggled to get a C and I am not sure what to say, bc her class isn't that bad, but her test are weird. She has four test, which one is an optional final. Her attendance and homework play a significant role in your overall grade. She is very inconsistent though.

Professor Irwin is a great woman. She cares about her students and is always in a happy mood, which helps get pepped up for class. She will go out of her way to help any student, but the chances of needing extra help are slim because her lecture style is amazing. Professor Irwin can teach SO much in a one hour lecture, and have it actually make sense.... TAKE HER

She is a great prof. Very energetic and helpful. Tries to make math as easy as possible. Attendance and HW are very imp ...take them very seriously. Tests are also not very hard. They will contain exactly what she teaches and she also reviews before the test. Getting an A is not that tough. Definitely take her if you can

I actually enjoyed a calculus class thanks to Ms. Irwin. When you understand calculus you feel more confident, and you do much better in the class. She goes slow to make sure that you understand all the concepts, and she's readily available for help. With the way she lays out methods of completing problems, you have no choice but to understand and do well on the exams. Take her if you get a chance!
