You would think that rocks, rivers, and landforms are really boresome. But Professor Hudson is very passionate about geography. And that's what makes his lectures interesting. He also has cheesy sense of humor. He puts lecture outlines on the class website for study purposes and also the map lists, for those unknown map quiz/attendence days. The textbook reading workload is moderate and the exams aren't too hard, if you study the notes and the map lists. The once-a-week labs aren't very difficult either. In conclusion, he made this intro class fun enough for me to consider a geography minor!

Dr. Hudson is a pretty good lecturer. Basically, the material is pretty dry and there's really not much he can do to spice it up. He also has lecture outlines that he shows on Powerpoint during lecture and puts online, so it's not too hard to learn the material. The tests are multiple choice, not too hard if you study. Also, there are lots of lab grades, attendance points and extra credit map quizzes that can help you out even if your test grades aren't the best.

Hudson is very enthusiastic and knowledgable about his lecture material. He gets a little too excited about river systems at times, but other than that, he's a great lecturer (lots of slides and diagrams to support the material). He provides lecture outlines online and most of the diagrams are also in the textbook. Tests are all multiple choice and were very easy for me. Even though he's a good lecturer, the material can get boring at times, especially if you already know some of the stuff, but this is not a class you can skip whenever you want. He gives semi-random attendance quizzes (he tells you around what day he'll give them, but sometimes he gets lost and gives them on a totally different day). Overall very easy and not too boring.
