I'm taking her for 506 right now also. And let me tell you, this is the most fun class I have in the 2 years I've been at UT. Yes, the class does indeed require great amount of work, usually 2-3 hours a day (that's extreme studying though), but it's worth it. And I haven't met a single Chinese TA who is not nice yet. My TA always let me practice my Chinese with her. Our TA is like our friend, except she grades our paper:).

Professor Ho is one of the best teachers. I came in the class not knowing how to write a single character in chinese, and now, after 2 semesters with her (604, 612), I certainly know a great deal more. WARNING: this course will take away A LOOOT of your time. she's extremely picky in the hmwks and tests, and this DOES count for 6 hrs, so it's gonna make you work hard!

She makes learning Chinese fun. Although, the courseload for CHI 506 is overwhelming, if you put the effort and time into it, you will see that it was all well worth it. I liked the TA I had for her class as well, she was nice and funny too. I would defintely recommend this course.

LOVED THIS CLASS!!! My absolute favorite. Didn't do as well as I hoped, but if you study and put a decent amount of time into it them you are sure to get an A. There is something due every single day so be sure that you have time every day to commit to this class. Loved the TA. Loved my class. I would definately recommend this class.

She's my favorite professor I've had so far (in three years). She's really fair. A pro at what she does.

Excellent Class. If you have no Chienese background, she will work with you so you can at least sound decent. This is a very hard class for a language class but she is very helpful. She enjoys working at your problems and will try her best to prepare you for the future courses. This is the only class that'll focus on 'tones' because in the other classes, the opportunity to speak decreases as it becomes more grammer based. Her test and homeworks are doable if you spend a good amount of time doing them. I would take her!
