Review from a student who took HIS 320R
Dr. Zamora is a horrible lecturer. I never understood what he was talking about and the material he covers isnt that interesting to begin with. He focuses alot on relations with Mexico and minorities in Texas. The class consists of a Midterm and Final which are 2 in class essays and IDs, and a 10 page biography or family history. He doesnt grade anything, so your grade totally depends on how nice of a TA you get. I felt like the only thing worthwhile out of this whole class was the biography, but you dont have to take a class to do that. So avoid Dr. Zamora if you can.

Review from a student who took HIST 320R
The course workload for this class is pretty light. All he gives is a Midterm, a 5 page report, a 10 page history of your family history, and a Final. His lectures are pretty boring, and there is really no reason to go, except he randomnly takes attendance. Also, the text he assigns you usually has no relevance to his lecture. The tests consist of essay questions and identifcations, but he doesn't grade them, the T.A. does. So like the other review said, it all depends on the T.A. you have. If you have a laid back T.A., you can easily get an A. Overall, this course has a very light work load, and your grade depends on how great you can write essays.
