Review from a student who took J 320d
Sylvie is definitely the teacher to get for this class. The workload is hellish, but Sylvie makes the class less painfull. He is negotiable when it comes to quizes, grades and class lectures (i.e. giving "off" days and extra credit, etc.)

Prof. Sylvie's lectures in J320 were, for the most part, a waste of time. But I think the other professor's lectures, Rodriguez's, were just as useless. Overall, I learned very little from him; however, the guest lecturers were very informative. The weekly news quizzes were challenging and not worth as much study time as they were counted for in the course grade. He was encouraging about our progress, and he was willing to cancel some of the quizzes we had to take when we were bogged down with other work. He also made our final story optional.
