Review from a student who took PHY 341
This was the worst class that I have ever taken in my whole entire life. I don't think I'm a terribly stupid person but this class seems like it's trying to make Plan II kids feel incompetent. The homework problems are not too incredibly difficult, especially if you set up study groups. However, the exams are very difficult. On the second exam he actually told us that he wanted the class average to be a 50. Most teachers want averages to be 70-80 and he wanted us to get a 50! His lectures are hard to pay attention to as well. He changes his symbols all the time so you better be paying attention or you'll get really confused. Definitely go to the TA sessions since this is when the TAs help out with the homework problems. Find a "smart" buddy for this class or suffer the wrath of evil physics.

I'd have to agree with the other reviewer - worst class I've ever had. I still have nightmares about it. I'm not sure it was totally scwitters fault though. He at least didn't make it as bad as I think he could of (in other words, between him and gleason he's the lesser of two evils). But the lectures were horrible boring, the tests were nothing like what we learned in class or on the homework, and the prof seemed very uninvolved in the class. He didn't care how we did and he wasn't around much. The TAs kind of make or break the class - they were really helpful and I would have been completely miserable without their problem sessions.
