I agree.. Minault is good. She knows her stuff, that's for sure. My problem is the lectures... she makes it really hard to stay interested. She'll go off about ship building for three days and skim over the interesting stuff in two sentences. Different strokes I guess. That said, it is easy to make an A. Go to class, pay attention (if you can), and you should be good to go. The exams are VERY generous and she grades easy. For example.. for ID type questions, she may give you 8 and ask you to pick just 2 or 3... One exam, two book essays and a take home essay final. Easy.

Professor Minault is a really good professor. She has a lot of experience with Asia and you can really tell in her lectures. It is really easy to make an A in her class if you just go to class and listen, you really don't even need to read all that much because she highlights the most important points in her lectures. In our class, you have to take 1 test, do 2 book reports, and take 1 final (each 25%).

She is definitly interesting, but hard to follow in her lectures. It's true, she'll go off on weird tangents and if you're not up to date on your Arabic, you might be confused by her lectures because she likes to name drop in Arabic randomly and it gets even more jumbled. In retrospect, I learned a lot about India, but during the class it wasn't easy to make myself go. Easy A if you pay attention to a couple of lectures per month. Slide quizes suck though.
