Student reviews of Kathryn Mckinley
Review from a student who took CS 372
CS 372 is a tough course, but McKinley has GREAT lectures and cares if students do well in her class. She tries to involve students in her lectures and is accessable in her office hours. The grading is broken down as follows: 12% - written homeworks (which are graded on completion, not correctness. Fairly easy and straightforward), 42% - programming assignments (we only had 4 this semester, they do take a lot of time and you'd better make sure you're comfortable with C++), 45% - exams (2 midterms, one final. Doable if you attend class and understand the lectures, homeworks and programming assignments), and 1% class participation. If you have ever taken a course from Burger and liked it, then you will love this class. She has the same style, energy and enthusiasm. You will need to put in a fair amount of work to make an A, but it's a very fun class.
