Profs like him is why UT is one of the top ten Universities in the country. This guy is easy to understand. He makes the hardest subject so much more interesting and he really cares about helping his students. Whatever he is teaching you should take him.

One of the best professors at UT. Dr. Ling is very enthusiastic during lectures, and you won't fall asleep so easily, plus the material is interesting and pertinent to the area. He's also very personable and is always willing to help out during office hours. I took EE 325 before and comparing it to EE 325k, I think I probably acquired 75% of my knowledge about EM in the latter course. Definitely recommended.

simply a great professor take his class if you are an EM tech area to really learn your stuff take his class if you are not an EM tech area to know what a great prof is and even if you don't care at all about EM you will STILL learn stuff

Ling is an awesome professor. I took "Antennas and Wireless Propagation" with him, and I actually enjoyed it. He lectures well, his homework is very relevant and understandable, and he knows what he's teaching inside and out. He's pretty easy to approach in office hours. His tests are pretty hard, and the homework is long, but if you talk to him during office hours and pay attention, you'll do fine.
