Dr. Kumchev is a nice and friendly guy. His lectures are not boring and his tests are fair. Before every tests, he gives us study guides which are very useful. Course is very organized. Take him if possible!
Review from a student who took M 408C
I'll start out by saying that part of my problem with this class was the time (8 am.. ugh), but overall, I would say that Kumchev is alright. It's not hard to make an A in the class if you go to class (especially discussion - my TA was probably the most helpful resources for the class) and do all of the homework assignments, but it's an uphill battle at times. I found the lectures boring and sometimes hard to understand. Kumchev would often spend 15 minutes working examples that were way beyond what we needed to know and became too complex to follow. He often referred to problems from other lectures, so if you miss a lecture, you may get a bit lost. However, if you've had some calculus experience or keep up with the homework, you should be fine.
