Review from a student who took FS 301
Awesome Class. Only 3 essays, no final. Easy homeworks and quizes. Interesting topic (spies). Watched a bunch of spy reality series TV show! Easy grader! Take this class! He's super nice to freshmens. Sweet guy.
Review from a student who took FS 301
For all of you who are looking for a freshman seminar, this IS DEFINETELY the class you want to take. I believe it has consistently been the hardest one to get into and for good reason. The topic, "Spies, Espionage & Treason" is very interesting. We learn about the CIA, Foreign Intelligence agencies, etc. But, it is always interesting. The other good thing about this class is the professor. He is really, really nice as far as this class is concerned. He does not pile on needless work and we really didnt have much homework except for two simple essays. He's always understanding and he's, on the whole, a really cool professor. If you take this class, you WILL NOT regret it.

Man this guy is great. He is definitely a character in his own right. I don't know how he has such a high A% though, because the class is not that easy. But for the most part everything is done fairly. Sometimes the homework grades seem unfair, but you can just talk to the TA's about them. The tests are very technical and you need to pay extreme attention to the readings. EVERYTHING WILL BE COVERED. Even the weird language stuff that you wouldn't think he'd cover he covers. He his quite funny though and you don't even mind that attendance is mandatory since he's teaching. Go to class, it's part of the grade. Seriously... at the end of the 2nd test if you have accumulated 195+ points, then you won't have to take the final, as long as you don't have any absences. Also, check blackboard, that's very important to his lectures/tests as well.
