Professor profile for Ian Hancock
Student reviews of Ian Hancock
Review from a student who took LIN306
Prof. Hancock is extremely knowledgeable about linguistics (especially creolization!). He doesn't have a textbook and the tests are strictly from his lectures, so if you take good notes you are guaranteed an A. The TA's grade the test based on the performance of the class. The test consist of 10 essays but you pick 5 to answer. We have had 3 tests so far and I've made high A's on all of them, so if you take good notes you will do great in this class. The only drawback is that his lectures sometimes jump from subject to subject, but if you just put in an hour of studying before the test you can find a connection between all the subjects and do fine on the test.
