Dr. Devidal's teaching style for this class is not bad. You will be given a course packet at the beginning of the semester which has all his slides. Just follow along. Going to class is not as important as solving the example problems and reading those slides. Tests are hard though so expect to put in alot of work to earn your grade. No easy A's here.

Intermediate accounting will be one of the hardest classes you ever take, and your situation isn't any better when UT's accounting program is one that crams all of it into one semester versus two. The group cases are really tough, especially if your group members are not enthusiastic. Dr. Devidal knows his stuff, so ask him questions. The exams are very difficult, but it's fairly easy to get a B in this class.

Definitely look over the homework problems before every exam. The final is pretty tough because it's long but it's not too bad. I agree with that other reviewer in saying that he probably grades hardest on the group oral presentation. You better be prepared for that: don't rely on notecards, be enthusiastic, get the class involved, etc. Also, definitely try to get to know him because he will notice things like you going to his office hours and asking questions in class.

Professor DeVidal is a pretty good prof for Accounting 312. It's a pretty hard course. The quizzes start out relatively easy and you should definitely do the practice homework problems or at least look them over. The tests are pretty difficult but if you study quite a bit you should do okay. The thing that he actually grades hardest on is the group presentation. I've never gotten belong a high B on any presentation grade and my group ended up getting a 75. Overall, just do the reading and prepare for class and you'll be okay.

devidal is a great prof. he is easy to listen to and makes you keep up with the course by having quizzes. he drops the lowest quiz grade and makes your better score from the 2 tests more wieghted. the tests are mc, short answer/computation, and the final is all mc. you must attend all of the class periods becuase he has a quiz, pop quiz, or group activity almost every class day. this course is challanging but if you have computational skills, and a little determination it pays off.

I have a 3.8 GPA as a double major. However, this class was incredibly difficult to get decent grades in. He is a horrible instructor, you have to teach yourself out of the book and homework or else you WILL fail. His team exercises are often over material we haven't even covered yet. Avoid at all costs.
