Review from a student who took ANT302
Brow is a decent lecturer, but he basically has a bunch of power point slides that the goes through and you take notes off of those. The bulk of the class is in the reading assignments, so as long as you keep up with that you can do well. I think your success in the course is mostly dependent on whether or not you get a lenient TA who knows what they're talking about. Overall it was an enjoyable class.

Dr. Brow's lectures are very boring and dry. He is an older British man who seems very nice, but he just needs some energy behind his lecture. The readings are boring as well, but this class is not hard if you keep up with them. When I took this class, we only had to complete 2 tests and/or essays out of 4 given throughout the semester. You could do all 4 if you so choose. The final is required, but it is not hard if you did your work all along. The TA does make a large differenece in your experience. DO go to TA sessions, your attendance affects your grade, and they help with retaining the information. Overall this class is a good elective or intro course to take.

Dr. Brow is a dry, boring orator. He can make anyone fall asleep. The books that we are assigned to read are somewhat interesting, and his TAs are awesome. The class isn't hard to make an A in, depending on who your TA is. The TA does all the grading, so don't worry about Dr. Brow.

Ya know those professors that put their lecture together with a power point show and just read everything off the screen? This is one of 'em. There's a good bit of reading, but most of it is easy. The text book is good at getting you involved, but his personal book (Demons and Development) that he assigns is boring as anything. The tests and quizzes are made up by the TAs, and they do all the grading, so who your TA is really makes a difference. He knows what he's talking about, but isn't someone I'd recommend if you have no previous experience in what he's teaching.
