Professor profile for Marc Bizer
Student reviews of Marc Bizer
Review from a student who took FR 326K
Bizer is a pretty good prof. He actually does have a personality and makes little jokes from time to time. The class is set up so it is easy to learn and get a decent grade, even if you don't understand the material. He has 2 tests and 2 papers for the class. Everyday work includes reading a text in french and answering questions on a worksheet that he goes over in class.

I dont think I have ever had a professor I dislike more or clash with more intellectually. Before divulging into his flawed grading, I will say he is the most uninteresting professor and is someone who is more interested in his own studies of his field rather than teaching the students. He does not help with vocabulary or expanding your knowledge of the language in general. Never gives useful feedback, and always grades between a 85-95. There were times when I would read every night and participate all the time, and times where i did absolutely nothing, came up with crappy answers for the homework, and never talked, but I would get the same grades no matter what. He also is late to every class, but then is super strict on tardies and absences and will literally dock your grade at then end of the semester from an A to a B+. Then his policy is no rounding up, even though you could've been one of the most participatory and engaging students in the class. The french department at UT is extremely lacking, and this is why no one wants to major in this field. The entire class structure needs to be reorganized and professors like this should be fired.
