This class was awful--I dreaded going to it each day. In my opinion, people should be warned. The problem is not that she's hard--the problem comes when you can't figure out what she wants, and her grading is subjective, which may be the nature of the course. If you do have her, which I do not recommend at all, go to office hours before each paper to discuss it, that's the only way you will figure out if you are on the right track. It takes a lot of work this class, it's just very frustrating when you work hard and you don't see it reflected in your grade(this coming from someone who did make an A!!). ah well--try not to take her unless you have an insane desire to add undue stress to your life.

She's tough, but you do learn a lot in her class. I thought the class was very valuable, but always be prepared before going to class.

I love Prof. Baker! I've had Prof. Baker for FR 312N and FR320E, and have found both of these classes extremely valuable and well-taught (I received A's in both classes). Her teaching style is very repetitive, and makes following the course work and lectures relatively easy on a day-to-day basis. Before each class, I simply read over the assignment for that day (about 20 mins prep) and am well prepared for class. I have enjoyed both of her classes and wish that she offered more beyond this level!
