Review from a student who took EE 312
If she recommends that you buy her custom book, I highly suggest you don't. For $75, I only used it once during the year as most of it is a duplicate of Wagner's notes and each lecture is available on Bb. And because it's a custom printing you can't really resell it anywhere. Lectures often take up the whole class time and are pretty darn boring. But test questions usually come directly from there (definitions). Sometimes a company will come in and do a presentation relating to software and may hand out free stuff. We had no quizzes but various homework assignments such as programming or doing a process flowchart. TA sessions just offer help on programs and clarify some points in the lectures. Oh yeah, homework and programs (a totally of nine or so) were worth 50% but she also dropped one assignment and frequently adds extra credit. Tests weren't that bad but often take up the whole class time. Basically it was definitions and programming questions. You have to memorize your definitions! There was usually an extra credit question on there too. Two tests (15%) + Final (20%) + Homework (50%) and voila your grade! But note that this was her first year teaching this class and many things could possibly change.
