Overall, Jones is a good professor. She posts class notes before the lecture which you can download and read from during the lecture and tests come from the notes and lecture material. There is no homework. The whole course is mapped out for you even before you begin. Very helpful. Each exam had a handful of extra credit questions which I thought were really helpful. The final had about twice the normal amount of extra credit. She gives partial credit if you write out your thinking in the margin of the exam, even if you miss the question. Very nice. She answers lots of questions in class but during office hours, she seemed a little like I was wasting her time and that she needed to get back to her research. She wasn't very engaging during office hours. She seems to lack a strong curiosity for her area of expertise. If I asked her a question about something related to biopsychology but not actually covered in the course, I would get a quick, cold "I dunno," and that would be it. At least that was my experience. The best teachers I've had answer this way, "I don't know but I'll find out for you," or they would at least point me in the direction where I might get an answer. I can understand a professor isn't going to know everything about the subject but they should at least show a drive for helping students when they themselves show interest.
