Student reviews of Charlotte Herzele
Review from a student who took NTR338w
I had a very rough semester due to personal issues during fall of 2012. I was taking this course during the time and Professor Herzele has helped me tremendously with writing in scientific language. I am horrible with English but for some reason, this class was extremely interesting. You get to choose your own topic of interest related to nutrition and health and to research thoroughly about that subject for the rest of the semester. I wish I took this course earlier in my freshman and sophomore year because I would have liked to have spent more time researching during my college career. She is by far one of the best professors I have come across. She is very kind, helpful, and humorous. The workload, in my opinion, started off light but gradually got to about medium-heavy due to papers and presentations that were due. Obviously, this is a writing course so that was a given. There were no exams. At the end of the semester, I have finished writing a wonderful review of literature on my topic of interest, which gave me a feeling of great accomplishment and pride. English isn't my thing but this class has changed me in a way where I am extremely in love with the process of research. I was very fortunate to enroll in a class taught by Professor Herzele. If you're a nutrition major and ever wanted to extensively learn about health, nutrition, science, or anything you were curious about, you should definitely take her.
