Great professor, his class organization isn't very good; but if you pay attention you will learn some interesting stuff. He was also very accomodating in meeting students outside of class.

This class was a nice break from most classes. Most of the time, your homework assignment involves getting an extra hour of sleep so that you won't sleep in his class. The project was actually sort of neat. You will see how to systematically derive correct algorithms for linear algebra problems that function properly the "first time" (it usually does anyway). No tests, and essentially no homework (DO NOT get behind on the project however). Go to office hours as soon as you get your project assignment and Robert will help you with your project. Deriving the stuff takes little practice and once you've got your algorithm, coding it up in Matlab is a breeze. Translating to C is a little more difficult because you have to use all of these functions Robert already has defined, but he'll help you with all of it if you just show up in his office hours. Or if you're lucky enough for him to sit down with you during class (too many people trying to get his help during class).

He is the best prof. It is an easy A in the class. You have to do 1 semester project, teams of 2, in which he helps us do most of it. No exams, no course work load. VERY easy class!!! I would recommend anyone take it, if they have a heavy course load for other classes.
