The class may seem more difficult than it is. If you attend all of your labs and study for just a little time for the lab quizzes, that average counts as one test grade. Your grade is based on that grade and three other tests ( you take four but you get to drop your lowest). The lectures were not great and sometimes totally irrelevant. There is a cd that goes along with the class. The cd helps alot for the first three tests. The reading material is important. He asks some questions from the reading material on each test. The grades are curved at the end.

Ahh where do I began its a great course IF you are a science preferrably geology major. Dont let the "Age of dinosaur" fool you. Its a hard class and memorisation is the key. Though the material is very interesting and my TA Farrah was absolutely brilliant and made the labs fun. I would recommand going to the lectures though sometimes you cant help but fall asleep the cd helps alot too. There was a big big curve in the end so I managed to make an "A". But be warned after taking this class you will never enjoy "jurassic park" the same all you can think is about the synapomorphies and the monophyletic groups. Overall a class which requires hard work but is interesting.
