Dr. Rose's classes are some of my favorites. I've been with her twice and neither class seemed like she was teaching something she didn't WANT to be teaching. Social Psych and the Law was particularly interesting for me since I want to go to law school and Dr. Rose has a special interest in this field. Her grading is fair I'd say - easier to get an A than some might think. I read the chapters only the night before the tests and missed a few classes and still did fine. The tests are mostly common sense and really easy if you pay attention during lectures. She covers the broad topics so listen while she's talking and don't bother writing down all the little details - get an overview of what she's discussing! One thing I didn't like about her tests was that she (according to my TA) is very picky about the wording you use on the short answer questions. If you don't use the exact wording from the book then you could get points taken off. Paraphrasing may show you know the material, but it won't get you an A in the course.

This class was really interesting to me, but my final grade for it might show otherwise. The course workload is not heavy, with three tests and a short paper. Professor Rose is a great lecturer, she keeps it interesting and is very enthusiastic. But her tests are.... ambiguous, I guess you could say. Personally it could have been my study skills, but the class averages are always in the low C range. Overall I truly enjoyed the class and the material, but did not enjoy my grade.
