Prof Regnerus can't teach. Plain and simple. He doesn't know what he's talking about half the time. When someone asks him a question he doesn't answer it, he just tries rewording it and asking the rest of class. He is very disorganized and it shows in his lectures. He expresses his own views about religions other than Protestantism too often making students in the class that belong to one of the many other religions or who are atheist/agnostic feel stupid and often times offended. And if teachers that have random hand gestures and the like that they do ALL the time annoy you, stay away from Regnerus. The workload wasn't too bad, just lots of reading and a couple papers. As long as you read and do your best at following his disorganized lectures, you should be alright.

Contrary to other reviews on this page, I really enjoyed Dr. Regnerus's class. This class is out of the ordinary, it focuses on a very unique subject topic, "Religion, Sex, and Family." If you're looking for a class that provides an in-depth introduction to the Social Sciences, this class is for you. He posts all of his lecture notes prior to the exam! All of the exam questions come from lecture. This is not a hard class if you just make an effort to attend every lecture. Tests are cumulative: 1st test (80% multiple choice, 20% essay). 2nd Test: (70% Multiple choice 30% essay; 50% old material 50% new material) He requires you to write a few papers during the semester (nothing to hard). CHEAPEST TEXTBOOKS EVER! I spent less than $20 on the class. -Light to Moderately Challenging class -Straight Forward Tests -Fair Grading -Cheap Textbooks
