i disagree with the previous comment. while the prof does introduce the problem of racism in society, and how it has several consequences and aftereffects on the american public [he also introduces the problem of american-centricism], he does little than rant about the quasms of bush, student inactivity, and show violence and prejudice due to inbedded racism place by our fore fathers without answering much. sure there are problems, but crapping about them endlessly will not solve the problem. we did not even get to WW2 and japanese racism. i found it pretty hard to get an A, since some of the TAs grade murderously.

Dr. Phillips is an awesome professor! His lectures are exciting, yet they can be controversial. He discusses the problems in society (mostly about racism). He is very interesting to listen to and his class is not difficult. If you go to class and take notes, you should do very well. There are two tests during the semester and then the final. You have the questions ahead of time that will be on all of the tests. The final counts just as much as the other tests. You grade will depend mostly on the TA that you get. There are also SI Sessions that can aid you. If you ever have the chance, TAKE PHILLIPS!
