If you dare take this class, you had better drop it asap. The reviews on this guy aren't kidding. I would have skipped an entire semester of math rather than take his class if I knew about these reviews ahead of time, on top of actually taking his class ... he doesn't make you feel welcomed in asking questions, tests are hard, don't count on curves (he doesn't believe in them), TA of not much help. Normally I wouldn't post a review, but for Naddaf ...

i hate this guy i love math, and i just assumed i'd be able to pass it easily. So...most everyone here said everything that needs to be said, so i'll say what his class had 1) homework due every week on wednesdays, not too bad, u know all the assignments before hand. 2) TA is absolutely awful, when a student asks a question, she'll make up an answer. Another student will catch it and say "isn't it supposed to be this way?", and she'll clumsily correct herself by saying "oh yes u can do it that way too" she's asian 3) quizzes every week, not assigned.' 4) Teacher doesn't teach, or speak english, everyone gets 1's on the quizzes, NO partial credit ever 5) Everything is basically graded wrong, and you have to pay attention to your grades and go to the TA to get it corrected. 6) You can't pass if you dont go to almost all the lectures...plain and simple...i tried it, so don't even think about taking this class if ur not a perfect attendance student. 7) I was always awesome at math, a 6 on the IB Higher Level Exam, an F in this class, guys...don't try it....even if this is your last resort to sign up for math, just take something else and wait til next semester.

(FALL 2003)All I can say is no matter how much you like and know math because this class made my life hell. Unexperienced T.A., Professor that was probably about to get fired, overloaded homeworks, misleading test examples, pointless lectures.

HOLY SH1T! This is the worst calculus professor you could get. Drop it, drop it, drop it. There are ways to pass this class. You must be VERY good at calculus, and willing to do every problem in the book. Variations on the hard problems often show up on his tests. They are killer. Our first test average was a 54 (no curve). On our second test the highest grade was an 85 (again, no curve). He refuses to curve any grades. If you are unfortunate enough to get his class, you are probably a freshman, thinking, "It can't be that bad. I'm good with math." Ok. Go ahead and take his class. I tested out of M408C with a 5 on the AB Calc AP exam, and, despite my best effort, am still on the verge of failing this class. It is not worth your effort. Take another class. Please.

Unless you are a super genius prodigy, stay away from this class. Curves are not an option, DONT EVEN HOPE FOR a curve, and even if you end up with the right answer on the test, he wont give credit if it hasnt been done his way. He wants a COMPLETE PROOF for everything. His quizzes and homeworks dont help at all in preparing for the tests which are the hardest things imaginable and he doesnt give much partial credit. The class DOES NOT prepare you for his tests. I got a 5 on the AP Calc AB, and 4 on the BC, and I'm getting barely getting a C in this class. Basically Naddaf is not lenient at all, and he doesnt care whether his whole class fails.

He sucks. His tests are impossibly hard. 408D is a hard class anyway, but when I took it again (with someone else), I found it much easier. In retrospect, I would take a different professor even if it meant taking the call later and graduating late.
