Review from a student who took SOC 354K
The title of this course is extremely deceptive. It is called Sociology of Health and Illness, however the first part of the course is spent covering poverty and the second half is about race. Health is hardly ever referred to, and always in the context of inequality. The tests are short answer and essay and are pure memorization of lists that he puts up on the board during lectures. Maybe sociology majors would enjoy the class, but for anyone else it is a boring waste of time.
