Review from a student who took MIIS 325
Professor Mote is VERY nice but there is something about his class that will put you to sleep. He talks during class like he's delivering a speech-- he moves around, makes up silly people, pretends like he's using the people in the class as entries to his database, and bangs on tables. But, somehow, you still fall asleep! I think it is because no one really asks questions in his class. He talks at you the entire time. So it's kind of like watching at a play about database management, which is as boring as it sounds. Will help you with the homework assignments though so that's not too bad. You get roughly one assignment per week but sometimes you can get up to 3. Be careful and pace yourself; don't underestimate the time some of these assignments take (esp when you get to ASP). Overall, the class isn't bad. It doesn't matter anyway b/c Mote is the only professor that teaches this class. Definitely bearable.

Great professor. Very energetic and helpful. Use office hours if you have trouble with coding. Workload is average...usually given 10 homework assignments throughout the year that constitute 40% of your grade. 30% from 2 tests and 30% from the final. The only thing I can tell you is to pace yourself while doing the homeworks so that you will be prepared for the final. Time is critical. Overall, the class is informative and the professor is great.
