This guy is either a hit or a miss, either you going to love him or hate him. His sense of humor is interesting at best, pretty dry and British. He will probably offend you with some of his jokes but its ok cause they're still really funny. And those that aren't are probably funny to someone else, so just deal with it. He has a tendency to brag about himself but interestingly enough he brags about all this failing points, so it makes it pretty funny. All the way around this guy is good. His lectures are interesting and keep you involved because you never know what's going to come out of this guys mouth next. He does have a tendency to be kinda a hard grader, but overall its fair. If you go to class and "look over" (flip through) the readings you shouldn't have any problem getting a B.

Most cynical, pessimistic, disagreeable prof ever. Is a chain smoker and proud of it (and wastes plenty of lecture time bragging about his terrible health habits as well as his disturbing -- and IRRELEVANT -- attitudes towards politics and foreign relations, society, and religion). In other words, lectures are superficial and worthless, but if you are entertained by disgruntled atheists and tongue-in-cheek masochists and general political uncorrectness, then the lectures are at least not so boring. Workload is light -- no homework or pop quizzes or anything and very little reading, but tests (called "quizzes") are graded hard and this class is not by any means an "easy A". You won't have to work very hard, but even if if you do, you won't get much out of it either.

Great professor, one of the few courses in which I attended every lecture because he's so entertaining to just listen to. Chain smoking, sarcastic British guy. Wish I hadn't graduated the same semester so I could've taken his next course. The "quizzes" are essay format and are graded pretty harshly, but if you do most of the reading, you shouldn't have a problem pulling off a B in the class, no extra homework, but a class that it's pretty important to attend the lectures of. Highly recommend if you love a humorous professor who likes to share too many details about his own life and shortcomings.
