I will begin by saying, if you are looking for a teacher who speaks English, look again! Cause by the linguistics of this teacher, you'd think you were border hopping the Valley and Mexico. I have yet to learn a damn thing from this class, or the teacher, in fact I don't exactly know what she says 95% of the time. Also, she writes on the blackboard in the DARK. does anyone understand that? And she asks people how to pronounce things. Basic. English. Words. I see a flaw here!! NOT RECOMMENDED IF YOU WANT TO LEARN and/or UNDERSTAND WHAT THE TEACHER IS SAYING!!!! Oh yeah, pretty simple course load, 2 tests, 3 write ups, etc etc etc

If you're one of those people who likes a professor that can speak English, stay away from this gal. Been to most every class and still haven't figured out what it is we're supposed to be learning. There's only two tests, both essay, and three 1 page write-ups. It's fairly easy, but still a depressing, soul-crushing experience.

Those other students' comments are racist and bigoted. THEY need an intervention, not Dr. Malagamba! Dr. Malagamba is an awesome professor!

I am researching for another work and stumbled upon these reviews of Professor Malagamba.I feel that history needs to be righted. Dr. Malagamba is one of the most memorable and impactful professors I was privileged to have studied with. Wherever she may be, I hope she would know that she touched lives and moved souls. Thanks you profesora.

I ended up on this page because I am actually looking up Profesora Malagamba, hoping to visit with her and I noticed the first two reviews. Just like the other two positive reviewers I too can attest that she was one of the most knowledgeable and memorable professors I have and I have had an AA, BA,MA, and working on an MSW, as well as other academic experiences. What a shame that the previous two commenters didn’t have the privilege of being surrounded by various languages and nationalities and different accents. I am sure that would have allowed them to understand something besides a Texas twang, which I also am lucky to understand along with other accents. What a shame that history has not taught people that only in embracing differences in culture and language do we truly live a full life. I had hoped my children would experience a world free of ignorance, xenophobia, and racism... perhaps I can hope Their children will.
